Elle started learning about music at the age of 13 at her dad’s record label. You can say she started in the mailroom and worked her way until she understood the business side. By chance stardom began when Elle wrote a song and laid down a track in 60 minutes as a young teen according to an interview with allhiphop.com.
Elle’s Album, Perfectly Imperfect, has quite a few hits on it like “only wanna give it to you featuring J. Cole, I Don’t Care, So Fly”, etc

This Weekend: Steve Harvey’s Mentoring Program for young men hosted by Chicago State University, 9501 South King Drive. The event is today, Friday November 16 through Sunday November 18, 2012.
Steve, Chicago State University (CSU) and the Harvey Mentors will be giving wisdom tools to 100 young men ages 13-18 who are from single mother homes. Steve chose this segment of the population because they are the most at risk and often the ones without a positive male roll model in their lives.
The young mentees of the Steve Harvey Mentor Program will speak and work with the CSU professors and have access to the African American Male resource center. According to the last U.S. Census 40% of Americans are youths currently under the age of 17. Of the percentage that are African American males, 47% will not graduate from high school on time. What even more astounding is 1,000 African American teens are arrested daily. 57% are raised in fatherless homes.
The highest grossing reason for loss of life is not violence, its ignorance. Ignorance because the major cause of death among African Americans is HIV/AIDS. Far too many do not know or have access to proper protection or are afraid to get tested.
The Steve and Marjorie Foundation mission is to focus on the whole child to make sure their whole developmental needs are met. They young men learn from adult men who have been in their place and rose above their circumstances.
The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation also host a program for young girls in which their encourage, inspire and develop the young girls mentally, spiritually and emotionally. The young girls are equipped with the proper tools to have successful personal and professional lives. They are exposed to vibrant women who understand and have broken ground in areas of leadership once closed or narrow for women.
The girls program events are separate from the boys events. Both are vital to the success of African American youth. The Steve and Marjorie Foundation is sowing much needed seeds of inspiration into the youth.
Chicago State University was founded in 1867 with 62 students in its first year. Today CSU is nationally-accredited university with five colleges- Health Sciences, Arts and Science, Business, Education, and Pharmacy – offering 36 undergraduate and 25 graduate degree, continuing education and distance learning programs.
